How to Reach Your Goals Before the End of the Year
Wow can you believe it’s already mid-September?! Here in the Northeast, it’s starting to feel like Fall. We’re getting the crisp mornings and it seems like everyone is back at school, back from Summer vacations, and there’s this general feeling in the air of getting back into the routine.
Remember those commitments and intentions you set for yourself at the beginning of the year? You might find that they are starting to become top of mind again and with this last quarter ahead of us, it’s not too late to make your health a priority.
So why am I bringing this up today? Fall is a great time to recommit to your goals and get back into a routine. Summer is a lot more carefree, the weather is nice, and you might take some time off. When Fall comes around, school starts up again, you might take less time off, and you’re most likely feeling ready to get back into the swing of things.
You might also start to feel a little discouraged and feel like you’re running out of time to work toward that better version of you. You might start to think “I guess that was never really possible” or “maybe I’m just not cut out for it”.
Maybe you’re considering waiting ‘til January.
Well I’m here to tell you that a lot can happen between now and the end of the year! In fact, my signature program, Food and Body Freedom in 90-Days, is well, ninety days. This means that you can feel totally transformed before the year is up.
So let’s talk about some ways that you can recommit to yourself this season.
Step 1: Connect to your vision.
Take a moment to envision the most free, confident and empowered version of you- down to the details. What is she wearing? What’s her posture like? What is she doing or not doing? What thoughts is she thinking? What is she feeling? The key here is to feel all the feelings that go along with this version of you.
Step 2: Clear the clutter. You have likely heard me talk about clearing the clutter before, and that’s because it’s really important. What needs clearing out before you can move forward? Maybe it’s organizing a space in your home so that you can do some yoga in the morning. Perhaps it’s clearing a spot in your calendar as an appointment you hold sacred for yourself. Maybe it’s unfollowing or unsubscribing from anything that makes you feel down. The goal here is to create space for where you’re going!
Step 3: Take some action. What are you committing to do within the next 48 hours that will bring you closer to your vision? Even the smallest action can create big waves. The intention is to create momentum. The tendency here is to wait for the “right moment” or wait until you feel ready. The reality is that there is never a perfect moment and you will never feel fully ready. The beauty of this is that you get to decide what action to take and you’re the boss. Take action now.
